Evans records three hits in Dawgs’ loss to Cactus Rats

The Okotoks Dawgs came up short against the Energy City Cactus Rats, falling 6-3 in front of a crowd of 4,963 on Fan Appreciation Night at Seaman Stadium on Saturday.

On the mound, Emmet Stacher gave the Dawgs a solid five-inning start, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out four. Brody Burnette followed with two scoreless innings of relief, surrendering just one hit and striking out four.

Offensively, Matt Evans (Tillsonburg, Ont.) paced the Dawgs, going 3-for-4 with a double, a run, an RBI and two stolen bases.

The Dawgs will look to bounce back on Sunday when they host the Swift Current 57's at 2:05 p.m. for the annual Breast Cancer Game at Seaman Stadium.
