“Making the transition from high school to college can be tough on any teenager. Deciding to transfer to another college just a few months into that transition can be even tougher. Yet, Alejandro Cazorla-Granados isn’t phased at packing his bags and finding a new home away from home as he has collected more Frequent Flyer Miles in his 19 years on this planet than most people three times his age have done. After spending the fall at Crowder College in Neosho, Mo., the Dawgs Academy grad made the decision to transfer to Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City, La., where he had originally committed to in 2019. It’s all in the name of chasing his baseball dreams.”

Big Ten taking notice of Canadian talent

University of Illinois assistant coach Adam Christ has been hot on the Canadian recruiting trail recently, locking in four Canadian up-and-comers in the 2022 and 2023 classes. Great Lake Canadians’ right hander Liam Adamson (London, Ont.) and infielder Dylan O’Rae (Sarnia, Ont.), along with Toronto Mets righty Parker Burgess (Douro-Drummer, Ont.) and Ontario Terriers outfielder Cameron Chee-Aloy (Toronto, Ont.) will all look to be an integral part of what the Fighting Illini are building. Combine that with the players that are currently on the rosters, or have committed to, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue and Rutgers, and the Big Ten is becoming must-watch baseball for Canadian baseball fans.

Marika Lyszczyk a diamond trailblazer from BC to Rivier to Sag Harbour

On March 1, 2020, Marika Lyszczyk (Delta, B.C.) was shattering barriers on Terry Park Field No. 4 in Fort Myers, Fla. On that beautiful day, she became the first female to ever catch in a National Collegiate Athletic Association game when she strapped on the gear in the Rivier University Raiders’ 12-3 loss to the Thiel College Tomcats.
