Seattle Mariners’ dominating reliever Matt Brash is the first major leaguer from Kingston.

That is, of course, if we don’t count LF Phil (Chicken) Routcliffe, who is listed as being from Frontenac, Ont. Kingston is located in Frontenac County. Routcliffe played one game for the 1890 Allegheny City of Pittsburgh.

There many another Kingstonian who can see the bring lights at the end of the faraway tunnel.

Pitching for 5 Star Mafia 18U Black, Lukas McDowell (Kingston, Ont.) worked three scoreless in an 8-3 win over Team Northeast on the final day of play at the 27th annual, 120-team Perfect Game World Wood Bat championships in Jupiter, Fla.
