ICYMI - Elliott: Will top Canuck Bremner get chance to pitch on Bremner Blvd?

“What are the odds of finding the top-rated draft-eligible Canuck less than 15 weeks before the annual selection of high schoolers and collegians?

Over the years, we have found a few, yet we never have we found anything like this:

Santa Barbara Gauchos RHP Tyler Bremner.

Tyler was born in San Diego. His parents are Jason Bremner, of Mississauga, and Jennifer, of Queensville, Ont., north of Newmarket. They now call southern California home.

Whicker: Reds’ Burns latest of 2024 first-rounders to be fast-tracked to MLB

“Chase Burns strikes out the first five major league batters he faces, one of which was Aaron Judge.

Nick Kurtz propels three game-winning home runs in a five-game span, all of them against topnotch relievers: Josh Hader, Bryan Abreu and Carlos Estevez.

Christian Moore makes his debut on June 14. Ten days later he ties the game with a ninth-inning home run. Two innings later he hits another home run that wins it.

Aside from having the world in their pockets, they share one thing. Last spring they were playing college baseball. They were taken in the first round of the 2024 draft: Burns second by Cincinnati, Kurtz fourth by Oakland, Moore eighth by the Angels. “

Betts: Davalan helps driving Razorbacks' bus ... all the way to Omaha

“The good folks at MLB Pipeline website have written Tennessee Volunteers left-hander Liam Doyle’s fastball “has been the most untouchable heater in college baseball this year.”

Apparently no one told Arkansas Razorbacks outfielder Charles Davalan.

Davalan (St-Bruno-De-Montarville, Que.) knew he would see that fastball when he headed to the plate after a leadoff walk in the top of the third in Game 2 of the Razorbacks Super Regional against the Volunteers on Sunday.”

Elliott, PG III: Great Lake Canadians lefty hams it up on mound with no no against ABC

“As Alexandre Giguère’s fly ball nestled into the right fielder Roen Douglas’s glove, the third base dugout emptied as if someone had set off the fire alarm.

No fire here inside Royal Field.

And no hits either.

Lefty Michael Ham, 17, had pitched a complete-game, seven-inning, no hitter for the Great Lake Canadians against the Academy Baseball Canada on Day III of the Perfect Game 18U Canadian National Championship Tour. “

Elliott, PG Day II: Kobryn, Leah, Ohanian, Winney

“The Windsor Selects and Team Ontario entered the day undefeated and untied.

They ended the day still owning undefeated records ... as Windsor’s Nate Winney provided the game-tying, two-out, two-run drive to right field in the bottom of the seventh inning.

It wasn’t a game winner, but Winney kept Windsor atop Pool A as Day II drew to a close at the 18U Perfect Game Canadian National Championship Tour on Thursday afternoon.”
