Copa America Pan Am Games qualifier to be rescheduled

The Copa América, 2027 Pan Am Games qualifier, will be rescheduled.

Following the guidelines and full compliance with the directives of the WBSC Americas Baseball in its guide for proposals to organize international events, the Copa América de Béisbol will be rescheduled to a later date.

This is due to the breach of contract by the private promoter who was to hold the tournament from November 13 to 22, 2025, in Panama.

Baseball Canada, McConkey, honoured by WBSC

Baseball Canada has been named the WBSC National Federation of the Year for 2023, recognizing its outstanding contributions to the promotion and development of baseball. The award was presented during the WBSC Congress, currently taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, and accepted by Baseball Canada CEO Jason Dickson. Also honoured was Keith McConkey, of Welland, Ontario, who was named the WBSC Umpire of the Year for 2023, marking a prestigious international distinction for a Canadian official.
